Twelve metres, and then it is gone
Dressing a loom takes a day and a half before a single pick of weft goes in: the warp is measured on a board, beamed on under tension, threaded through the heddles one end at a time and sleyed through the reed. Twelve metres of it makes eight scarves, or four throws, or a dozen towels -- and when it is cut off, that cloth is finished for good. The next warp is wound from whatever is on the shelf, so the stripe moves and the shade shifts.
Everything is washed, pressed and shrunk once before it goes out, so it does not shrink on you. Wool wants a cool hand wash and a flat dry; linen takes the machine at thirty and gets softer every time.
Woven to your size
Pick the cloth, type the width and the length in centimetres, and choose the weft from the bobbins on the shelf. The price follows the length, and the warp is wound for your piece alone -- which is why it takes six weeks and cannot be hurried.

Warp 14 went on last Tuesday and took most of two days to thread -- twelve metres of undyed Pyrenean wool, eight pieces wide enough for scarves. Three are woven and washed, and they are on this page.
What is next is already wound: a linen warp for towels, in the ticking stripe that sold out in June. If you want one, write and say so now, because there are only ever ten.
