Northlight

A white wall, and nothing cropped to fit it

Open the demo store

Northlight

Centred nav - 1:1 images

A white wall where every picture hangs whole at its own proportions -- three upright and three wide, nothing cropped to a square -- with a shadow that follows the painting rather than a frame round the box.

Sections: Split hero on a hung painting, on the wall, originals and prints and what the difference is, painted here one at a time, a commission, the list

Ships with the Gallery whitepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

longgrain.werklo.net

Longgrain

End grain, cut to the length you ask

Open the demo store

Longgrain

Left nav - 4:3 images

Daylight and a drawing sheet: the words sit in a title block on a photo of the bench, the pieces stand two across, and the price goes by the centimetre. For makers whose real business is the commission.

Sections: Bench hero, build-sheet strip, two-across pieces, per-centimetre configurator, build sheet, commission steps, commission banner

Ships with the Walnutpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

forge.werklo.net

Forge

One fire, and a price list instead of a grid

Open the demo store

Forge

Left nav - 4:3 images

A dark workshop, one photograph of the fire, and the whole shop as a priced list grouped by where a piece goes. For a maker who sells forty small things and has two good pictures.

Sections: Photograph hero, the priced list, what the making is, made to a size, the questions, the guarantee

Ships with the Ember & orangepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

lantern.werklo.net

Lantern

Candlelight as the only light, and the scent list first

Open the demo store

Lantern

Left nav - 1:1 images

A night-coloured page where every photograph is lit by the candle in it, and the scent list -- a wine list, not a grid -- comes before any jar. For a product nobody can smell through a screen.

Sections: Photograph hero, the scent list, four forms in wax, the first burn decides the rest, your words on the label, favours and a table of forty

Ships with the Espressopalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

lather.werklo.net

Lather

Dappled daylight, every bar in its band

Open the demo store

Lather

Left nav - 1:1 images

Dappled daylight and a paper band across every bar, with the oils and the weight printed on it. The page answers the question a soap stall is really asked: why yours costs four euros.

Sections: Photograph hero, cut this week, why a bar takes six weeks, build a box, asked at every market, favours and your own band

Ships with the Sea glasspalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

folio.werklo.net

Folio

Ivory, sewn, and the paper stated first

Open the demo store

Folio

Left nav - 3:4 images

Ivory paper, a text face, and every photograph of a book from its edge -- open, fanned, or with the sewing showing. The paper is stated before the covers, which is how a notebook is really chosen.

Sections: Photograph hero, the paper and the rest, the books, initials in foil, a run of fifty

Ships with the Brickpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

gather.werklo.net

Gather

Held to the light, with its own shadow under it

Open the demo store

Gather

Centred nav - 4:5 images

Every piece photographed against the light with its own shadow under it, and nothing in a frame. The band under the goods says where mouth-blown work varies, because that is what a buyer is really asking.

Sections: Split hero on a backlit shelf, from the furnace, each piece honestly, a set blown in one day, four minutes at the pipe, on breakage

Ships with the Frostpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

whetstone.werklo.net

Whetstone

Cold grey, the steel on the card and again below

Open the demo store

Whetstone

Left nav - 1:1 images

Cold grey, the blade on black, and the steel said twice -- the alloy and the cladding on the card where a knife is chosen, and a proper block lower down. Care is written as imperatives, not a disclaimer.

Sections: Photograph hero, on the bench now, about the steel, a care schedule, made to your hand, send it back

Ships with the Graphitepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

tumble.werklo.net

Tumble

Plain wood, the name first

Open the demo store

Tumble

Left nav - 3:4 images

Plain wood photographed plainly, the safety facts stated flatly, and the name band high on the page because a toy with a child's name on it is what people come for. No pastel, no pills.

Sections: Photograph hero, one toy in four shades, their name on it, what it is made of, asked by parents, christenings and a class of twenty

Ships with the Apricotpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

whistle.werklo.net

Whistle

White studio, cut to the neck

Open the demo store

Whistle

Left nav - 4:5 images

A white studio and the measurement first: the neck a collar is cut to comes before any collar, because the number is the product. Every card carries the same three lines in the same order.

Sections: Photograph hero, measure the neck first, collars and leads, asked at the park, say the neck we cut the rest, nothing riveted that can be sewn, rescues and kennels

Ships with the Fernpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

proof.werklo.net

Proof

Every cake on its own colour, and a week you can read

Open the demo store

Proof

Left nav - 4:3 images

Every cake on its own field of colour, which is what a cake counter actually looks like, and a week you can read: the baker's own letter instead of a chalkboard, and servings on the card rather than centimetres.

Sections: Photograph hero, a letter from the kitchen, the six cakes, build a cake, four questions, the tiered cake, tell me the date

Ships with the Honeypalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

vellum.werklo.net

Vellum

Ivory and hairlines, the sample before the suite

Open the demo store

Vellum

Centred nav - 4:5 images

Ivory paper, a light serif and a hairline around every photograph, so flat-lays shot on four different cloths sit in one row. The sample pack comes before the collection, and the collection is priced by the piece.

Sections: Split hero, hold the paper first, the collection by the piece, how it works and when, make a suite yours, from a blank page

Ships with the Ecru & bronzepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

repot.werklo.net

Repot

White ground, the plant and the pot it goes into

Open the demo store

Repot

Left nav - 4:5 images

Plants on white, one at a time, at the size they will arrive. The grid is what has rooted, the rail under it is what it goes in, and the page ends on the date the next list goes up.

Sections: Photograph hero, what is rooted, which window it wants, the pots, pick the plant then the pot, before it is posted, the next list

Ships with the Juniperpalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

bartack.werklo.net

Bartack

Canvas in daylight, the stitch first

Open the demo store

Bartack

Left nav - 4:5 images

Condensed capitals stencilled like a kit bag, the bartack stitch drawn under the headline, and every bag in the shop as a kit list with the litres and what fits in it. Two bags at size beat six at thumbnail size.

Sections: Typographic hero, what holds it together, two bags at size, cut to you, every bag by how it is carried, asked at the market, the batch

Ships with the Olive grovepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

mercato.werklo.net

Mercato

The objects page: every piece keyed and priced

Open the demo store

Mercato

Left nav - 4:5 images

A magazine’s objects page: every piece on the page’s own colour, ranked by size and keyed by a number to its caption. Drawn for no craft in particular, so a ring, a bowl and a candle sit on one page and look chosen.

Sections: The edit (status line, title and the goods in one band), a dated letter from the maker, the commission, the small print and the list

Ships with the Chalk blue & ultramarinepalette · any of the 62 palettes works on it

heddle.werklo.net

Heddle

Every piece off a warp, and the warp says how many

Open the demo store

Heddle

Centred nav - 4:5 images

Every photograph is a piece of cloth with its fringe, hung under a line of hairline threads. The page is built on the warp: what is on the loom, what came off it, and how many there were.

Sections: Mirrored hero on the warp, what is on the loom, the pieces, twelve metres and then it is gone, woven to your size, a letter from the loom

Colour

One palette library, every theme

Colour is not welded to the theme, so any of these 62 palettes works on any of the 22 storefronts. Prefer your own brand colour? Type it in and the rest of the palette is built around it. Every combination is checked against WCAG AA contrast before it can reach a shop.

In the works

Signature themes are coming

The 22 above are kits: you arrange them, and they reward the time you put in. A signature theme is the other trade. It is drawn as one piece — the layout, the cards and the motion ARE the design — and you give it a colourway, a switch or two and your own photographs. Nothing to arrange, nothing to get wrong.

Two have been drawn and held back, because neither made us look twice. The shelf stays empty until one does.

Questions about themes

Do themes cost extra?

No. There is no paid theme store and no premium tier: all 22 themes are on every plan, including Starter. Switching between them costs nothing either.

Can I change theme after I have launched?

Yes, as often as you like. Products, orders, blog posts and pages are not tied to a theme; only the presentation changes.

Can I use my own brand colour?

Yes. Type your hex value and the background, surface, text and muted colours are derived around it, so body text stays readable. You can also start from any palette and fine-tune the accent.

Do I need a designer or a developer?

No. Sections, colours, navigation and footer are edited from the admin with a live preview. There is no theme code to touch.
