Two hands, one bench, no production line
Every piece is cut from a single hide on the bench in the photograph, skived at the folds, punched and then stitched by hand -- two needles, one thread, seven stitches to the inch. A machine does the same seam in a minute and it fails at the first broken stitch; a saddle stitch does not unravel.
Which is why the goods are made to order in the week after you buy, and why there are three of them rather than thirty.
